I’ll always have Hanoi

It may seem to you that new posts on this site will be few and far between. And that might be true. Or it might just be that I’ve been preoccupied with my new best friend, Hanoi. Yes, yes, I do spend a great deal of time in my hotel room, just laying about, watching cable TV and using the internet. You are probably thinking that would be a perfect opportunity to update everyone on my crazy adventures in this faraway land. But, you see, Hanoi doesn’t just stop at the hotel’s entrance, oh no, it seeps through the windows and under the doors and I get very distracted.
Of course all of that is complete bullshit. I am just very very lazy. I do, however, feel that once I leave the big city environment I will be more inclined to just sit around, read a book, draw a picture, and update you people with pictures (mostly of me, sitting around, reading, etc.). Which brings me to the point of this post, my plan for the next couple of weeks. I am leaving Vietnam and FLYING to beautiful Luang Prabang, Laos. The motorcycle thing was a bust. I had spent a few hours each day looking for a motorcycle with little success. Apart from an overpriced Honda 160, I found one Russian Minsk that needed work and I even considered getting a motorbike. I also got to thinking about me in the mountains of Laos, in the middle of nowhere, squatting next to some locals eating poached goat balls or some shit and I realized that maybe that just isn’t for me. I really don’t think I’m that guy. Sounds great on paper, but… Hey, remember when I wanted to ride my bicycle around the world? Oh man, that is some funny shit. No, but really, I don’t know, kids. I may want to ride a motorbike through Thailand still. Not sure.
** There are more picts of Hanoi on my Flickr page.
